Dalmation refers to the fact that each flower has a gorgeous freckled throat, like a spotted Dalmation. Plant plenty of these Foxglove in your perennial gardens around your home for a stately appearance. They tend towards biennial, so allow seed production for additional plants the next season. After 4-5 years, feel free to divide and replant in spring or fall. To encourage a longer bloom season, cut the flower spike to the base after blooming to encourage more growth with additional flowers. At the end of the season, leave fall growth at the base of the plant and do not cut back to the ground. This plant is toxic if ingested.
